Happy Earth Day, Everyone!
This week at Made Especially for You, we are celebrating Earth Day by creating a special project with recycled materials. This challenge runs from now until April 29th and you must use some kind of recycled material. It can be old book pages, bottle caps, newspaper, basically anything that has been used before and is now being re-used on your card.
Our sponsor this week is Jessica's Craft Shaque. Our winner will get a set of decorative corsage pins!
This is what I came up with-
I used two cartoons from a Disney Store bag. I just love all the old school cartoons that make up the bags. I used Distress Ink on the top and bottom of the card. Then I used a button border from K&Company. To top it off, I used two small stamps, one star and one banner to finish it. It looked a little busy, but I think given the nature of the cartoons, it worked.
I hope you will all enter the challenge and celebrate Earth Day in your own way! I plan on seeing Disney's Chimpanzee this week so some of the proceeds will go to the Jane Goodall Institute. Remember to take care of Mother Earth! Happy week to you all.

Next up on Made Especially For You is a challenge involving a card with three flowers! How easy is that? Our sponsor this week is 3 Girl Jam and the winner will receive a two-piece bundle of crinkle ribbon!
Onto my card-
I wanted to make a very general "Hello"card this week and this was the perfect project to do it. I was watching 50 First Dates when I was making this and that movie has beautiful floral in everything from the actual Hawaiian location, to Drew Barrymore's paintings, to the flowers in her hair. So I tried to use some embellishments that I had that reminded me of that. I'm going to have "Forgetful Lucy" in my head all day now. I love Adam Sandler but only when he's paired up with Drew Barrymore. (So that's what? 2 movies?)
Can't wait to see what you all come up with! Until next time, Happy Crafting! Mahalo!

So today is a big day! My Daddy-o turns 62 years old and after 30+ years in Pharmacy, he is hanging up his white coat and retiring! Anyone who knows me knows what a big Daddy's girl I am and no matter how old I get, that will never change. I am so proud of him and he is a constant source of strength and inspiration for me.
My Dad is a big fan of Goofy (which is so funny b/c we all know what a great Dad the Goofster is) so I wanted to make him a Goofy inspired card. For the cut, I bought the Clubhouse Friends set from Paper Piercings by Nikki. I absolutely LOVE these images!! This is what I came up with.
The paper came from a Recollections pack. You can't really tell, but the orange paper is sparkly. To give it a little extra, I added green brads to the orange circles and used a Martha Stewart paper puncher for the edges. Hope you are all enjoying the projects. Our Disney week is almost at an end, but hopefully you've made a few new crafty friends in the process. I know I have!

OK, So I don't get along with Minnie Mouse. I never really have. While most girls adored her, I was more of a Daisy Duck gal, myself. Minnie always seemed to be complaining about SOMETHING Mickey did or rather didn't do when really, the guy just wanted to hang out with his best pal, Pluto. She seemed like such a nag!
Anyway, I digress.
When my friend Jenn said she liked Minnie, I found myself having to create a Minnie Card with absolutely no resources. I really need to get my hands on the Mickey and Friends Cricut Cartridge! So instead I improvised.
I had some patterned paper from Recollections and I simply cut out the black shapes. I managed to find one sticker to put on the front and found a red and white ribbon to make a bow. It's not my best work, but I plan on making her something else to make up for it.
I've been loving all the Disney crafts so far this week! Be sure to check out everyone else's projects below! I'm hoping to unveil a Goofy project tomorrow! Until next time, happy crafting!

Time to post my next project for Disney week! And I actually made this one myself so that's fun. Quick reminder! This is not a hop... it is just a group of us crafters that have all promised to ONLY post Disney related projects on our site this week There is a link list at the bottom of this post of all the Disney crafters playing along. Feel free to visit us this week and be inspired. :)
Personally, I'm a big fan of Belle, but I decided to give another princess some attention.
I got some circle stencils that I used to make the bubble background and I used Broken China distress ink for the edges and the bubbles themselves. I used the Dreams Come True cricut cartridge for Ariel and her name. I'm sending this to my college roommate who is a redhead herself! Hope you like this and click around to see some of the amazing Disney projects people have been making!

I am so excited to be a apart of this week of Disney Projects!
Just a reminder: This is not a hop... it is just a group of us crafters that have all promised to ONLY post Disney related projects on our site this week (including Hello Kitty, Pixar, Pooh, Sesame Street, etc.) Some people might post a new project every day; others may only get a few projects out all week, but we will all be showcasing DISNEY (or some other animated character).
There is a link list at the bottom of this post of all the Disney crafters playing along. Feel free to visit us this week and be inspired. :)
So onto my project. I actually cannot take credit for this project, but I needed to post it because I love it so much. When my now boyfriend and I first started talking, I told him I was a huge Disney fan-especially Donald Duck. From an early age, I related to Donald's fiery temper and we both had the tendency to laugh at our own jokes. JP was an art student studying Computer Animation, but he also drew and painted pretty damn well. On our very first date, he drew this Donald Duck using pastels for me.
Who's got the sweetest disposition?
One guess, that's who?
Who'd never, ever start an argument?
Who never shows a bit of temperament?
Who's never wrong but always right?
Who'd never dream of starting a fight?
Who gets stuck with all the bad luck?
No one - but Donald Duck!
Now it is framed and hangs in my bedroom. It is one of my most treasured possessions. Tomorrow, I promise to post something I actually made, but I just needed to show everyone how wonderfully creative and thoughtful my boyfriend is.
I hope everyone gets a chance to check out the other projects out there.I for one love any excuse to look at/make some Disney magic. =)

This week's challenge for Made Especially For You calls for a card using the following sketch.
Our sponsor this week is the awesome Cutting Cafe and the winner of this week's challenge will win their choice of three sets of stamps!
Here is my creation.
Flags, btw are kinda hard to make. I thought they'd be the easiest part... little did I know. Hope you all play along! Can't wait to see what you come up with!
Until next time, folks, Happy Crafting!

Obviously, this is waaay overdue. If you look at my button, you know I'm a HUGE Disney fan. (Not to mention the um, Mickey tattoo I have?) Sadly, I don't make enough Disney cards and I really need to rectify that!
Oh, Hai Disney Week long Crafts....
Oh, Hai Disney Week long Crafts....
Join us the week of Sunday, April 8th through Saturday, April 14th for a week full of projects featuring: Disney, Winnie the Pooh, Sesame Street, Pixar, & other such characters we all LOVE.
This is NOT a blog hop. All of us crafters who will be participating in DISNEY WEEK will provide a list of all our friends also posting Disney projects this week. You can visit as many as you'd like at your convenience.
We may not have a new project every day of the week posted, but you can be assured that all projects we post that week will be somehow Disney related.
You want to join in on the fun? Contact Janis at Pause, Dream, Enjoy for details! I'm excited to put my Mickey Ears on this weekend!
As Genie likes to say- "LETS MAKE SOME MAGIC!"

Hey everyone! So I know it's been fairly quiet around these parts. Between school and being sick (ugh) I've been slower than usual. I'm hoping since Spring Break is on the horizon (mine apparently is after everyone else's) I'll have some extra time to sit at my desk and craft. I miss it!
So today is Easter time over at Made Especially for You. The girls and I have made some really great cards using digis from Robyn's Fetish Digital Stamps and More and we can't wait to see what you come up with! This week's challenge is to create an Easter card using a digi stamp which honestly, is becoming my newest obsession. I like any excuse to whip out my markers! Since I have a thing for little kids in bunny suits (I think it started with my love for Ralphie in A Christmas Story- I sorta made him resemble Ralphie) I chose yet another adorable kid in bunny ears.
This week's winner will receive 5 digi stamps from the site and I think that's a pretty sa-weet deal!
ALSO! Don't forget about this month's lucky link-up! Throughout the month of April, you have unlimited opportunities to win the Wild Card cartridge being given away by one of our wonderful design team members, Pam from Scrappin Fab Pam. Here are the guidelines for the giveaway:
- You will receive one entry for every card you enter in our weekly challenges (you can enter as many cards as you want for each challenge as long as they each have their own post on your blog)
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
