For today's project, I turned back to my distress inks. I am slowly trying to teach myself how to blend the colors together and I wanted to enter this into Pause Dream Enjoy's #27 challenge entitled: Sunset.
For this card I mixed 6 different colors: The sky was a combination of Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge to create that sunset palate. I placed a circular piece of paper temporarily on the card for the sun as I applied the orangey Rusty Hinge. I tried keeping the indent very faint. I used Inkadinkado flower stamps for the bottom and although I used Victorian Velvet and Vintage Photo for the flowers themselves, I blended Peeled Paint in the background for that greenery feel. For the sentiment and the butterfly, I used Black Soot to top it off.
I'm actually really proud of this card and I'm looking into getting some lighter shades of inks so I can experiment some more.
So if you have a card with a sunset or just the colors that are associated with a sunset, be sure to visit Janis and the rest of her DT at Pause Dream Enjoy!
And while you're at it, have you entered my give-away? Only two days left!!
Until next time, Happy Crafting!
